Maintaining of critical vehicle landmine protection technologies and capabilities (incl. TM&E) and further development of vehicle unconventional threat protection technology to fulfil the needs of the SANDF.
Critical areas of research include understanding the damage mechanisms of the threat and its interaction with the vehicle structure. The load transfer and injury mechanisms on the human is also of fundamental importance.
Knowledge, skills and technologies that are developed will be transferred to the SANDF (and industry) through the maintenance and update of RSA-MIL-STD-37 & RSA-MIL-HDBK-38.
