Almost 10 years into the poaching crisis there is little respite for those tasked with the responsibility of protecting rhinos. Although the threat remains all too real, notable headway has been made to mitigate risks and strengthen security efforts. As a means of supporting the wider rhino community, StopRhinoPoaching.com and the CSIR will be joining forces to host a four-day, interactive rhino protection conference where experienced speakers will cover a wide range of practical, protection-related topics focusing on security interventions, best practices and lessons learned. These include national updates, ranger training, equipment, technology, air operations, K9 capability, operations and tactics, ranger wellness, protection zones, reserve security and more.
